Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) and Torque Release Technique (TRT) are progressive, up-to-date, and evidence-based Chiropractic spinal analysis and adjusting systems that are based on a Non-Linear, Priority-Based/Time-Sequence, Tonal Model (i.e., at any moment, there is only one most appropriate "window" or Spinal Gateway™ to apply an adjustment--light impulse or touch). The focus of NSA and TRT is on optimizing the function and integrity of the nervous system, especially that of the spinal cord and brain, and to help each individual gain new strategies for adapting to life and all its challenges, while also enjoying higher levels of health, wellness, and quality of life; all while honoring the body by using the least amount of force necessary to achieve the desired outcomes. These systems have been involved in very important research studies conducted at, or in conjunction with, major universities in the U.S.
TRT, which has been featured in a documentary on the Discovery Health Channel, was born out of a large human population research study in 1995, which showed the astounding effects of Subluxation-Based Tonal Chiropractic care on state of well-being, human potential, and quality of life. The blinded placebo controlled randomized clinical trial was conducted in cooperation with the University of Miami School of Medicine and published in the peer-reviewed medical journal, the Journal of Molecular Psychiatry in March 2001. It was based on the Brain Reward Cascade (of neurotransmitters) Model and Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS), first proposed by Kenneth Blum, PhD. of the University of Texas, Houston School of Public Health, who is also known for his work on melatonin and the pineal gland. It was discovered that people who suffer from addictions and compulsive disorders (Tourette's disorder, ADHD, and OCD) had in common a gene defect in Dopamine (D2) receptors that interferes with that population's ability to express a normal state of well-being (RDS). This research, which includes how Subluxation-Based Chiropractic fits in with RDS and the Brain Reward Cascade, was published in the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs in November 2000. It's important to note that Dopamine, which is a very important neurotransmitter in the opioid system, is necessary in the ability to cope with stress. Moreover, the opioid system is intimately linked with the immune system.
NSA, which has also been featured in a documentary that aired on PBS, has gained the attention of leading scientists in several disciplines, and has been subjected to clinical investigation at the University of California, Irvine College of Medicine and the University of Southern California, Dept. of Engineering and Mathematics [more on NSA research]; the results of which are nothing short of amazing. Several scientific discoveries in the realm of neuroscience support the fact that spinal & nervous system health are imperative for mediating many functions of the body, including that of the immune system, hormonal regulation, emotions, DNA/gene expression and repair, etc.; and Chiropractic adjustments have a positive effect on overall neural (including brain) efficiency and function.
Both NSA and TRT embrace the Quantum Physics Paradigm (1. Body/Mind/Soul Hologram: There is no separation between a living human body, the mind, and soul. 2. The adjustment is a communication between the doctor's intelligence and the practice member's (patient's) INNATE WISDOM with the nervous system being the medium for transmission of information from one to the other.)
